Muslims are discriminated: M A Baby

Muslims in India face severe discriminations in education and employment sectors- Says M A Baby, the minister, education and cultural affairs, government of Kerala. He was delivering the key note address in the inaugural session. Marginalization in the name of religion will weaken our democratic structures. The brutal and antagonistic approaches of the right wing are the most serious threat that our country faces. A small section among Hindus tries to erase nation’s minorities and pollute their great religion. They have become intolerant to the political aspirations of minorities groups in India- He continued.

“We should counter the right wing fanatics by utilizing our democratic structures and institutions. Using the same weapon that the extremists use will lead us nowhere. Muslims can play an important role in strengthening the democratic and secular process and institutions and no one can ignore the historical role that the Muslims played in shaping country’s identity” - He added. .
